Riyadh, the capital city of Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia’s capital, Riyadh, is a thriving metropolis that successfully combines modernity and a rich cultural legacy. Situated in the center of the Arabian Peninsula, Riyadh serves as both a symbol of Saudi Arabia’s economic expansion and a major global financial centre. With a population of more than 7 million, Riyadh is distinguished by its remarkable skyline of recognizable skyscrapers and architectural wonders.

The National Museum, which offers tourists an in-depth look into Saudi Arabia’s rich past, is one of the city’s cultural attractions that demonstrates its historical significance. The souks, or traditional markets, of Riyadh are a sensory experience of Arabian spices, fabrics, and handicrafts, reflecting the city’s rich culture. Furthermore, Riyadh serves as a vital hub for diplomatic operations, hosting embassies and promoting cross-border relations. The city is a tempting location for business and cultural exploration due to its dynamic blend of heritage and progress.

Package Information

Upon arrival at the Riyadh airport, our representative will greet and assist the guests with their visa and immigration procedures before escorting them to their air-conditioned vehicle for the hotel transfer. Dinner on your own schedule. Overnight in RIYADH.

In your hotel, breakfast. After a two-hour trip, we embark for the traditional village of Ushaiqer. Ushaiqer, one of the most colorful examples of Najdi architecture, is representative of Saudi Arabia's central plateau. One of the oldest settlements, Ushaiqer has been around for "over a millennium," and it was an important hub for pilgrims traveling from what are now Kuwait and Iraq to Makkah to undertake the Hajj or Umrah. We get the chance to explore its winding lanes, which weave between ornate old mosques, palaces, and magnificent traditional homes. We then go to a museum housed in one of the most exquisite ancient houses in the hamlet, which has a private collection of antiques. We wrap up our tour from a striking vantage point with a broad panorama of the region. We will then have a traditional Arabian lunch at our leisure before heading back to Riyadh. Dinner on your own schedule. Overnight in RIYADH.

In your hotel, breakfast. We travel to the historic Dirah Souq, which is well-known for its antique carpets and other useful Saudi heritage antiquities, and begin our visit to old Riyadh in the downtown area. The fragrance of sandalwood and other oriental spices permeates the stroll. Men's clothing is the specialty of the Souq, and every Friday's auction is a fun event to watch. Following that, we go to the Masmak Fort, which is located near the Old Souq and whose significance is associated with the establishment of the third Saudi Kingdom, the one we currently inhabit.

Built in 1895 A.D. during the reign of Abdullah bin Rashid, the fortified palace was intended to serve as a military stronghold for the prince's army. The fort was taken in 1902 by His Majesty King Abdulaziz, the founding father of the modern kingdom, signaling the start of the House of Saudi Arabia's reconquest of Arabia. leisurely lunch. We travel for half an hour to Ad-Diriyah, which is situated on the western bank of the Wadi Hanifah, a dry riverbed that only receives significant rainfall. Ad-Diriyah used to be the capital of the Najd (the central plateau of the Arabian Peninsula) from the 15th century to the beginning of the 18th century.

It was recognized as the most outstanding example of Najdi architecture and the site of the first Saudi Kingdom, underscoring its significance in the history of the Arabian Peninsula. In 2010, it was inducted as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As a hub for travelers to and from Asia, Africa, and Europe, Ad-Diriyah has a long history as a trading and pilgrimage site dating back thousands of years. We are able to take in the breathtaking architecture during our tour before heading back to Riyadh's center.

As we make our way into the city, we can't help but notice how quickly this multicultural capital is growing—the Saudi government intends for it to overtake all other Middle Eastern metropolises as the largest in ten years. Return to the lodging. Dinner on your own schedule. Overnight in RIYADH.
